    1. Sources contain parish registers, census returns, emigrant lists, International Genealogical Index and a comprehensive library on local history - "bygdebøker" covering the whole of Norway.
    2. Most of the information is available on microfilm, microfiche and paper extracts.
    3. The emigrant lists holds about 350,000 emigrants with their names, home address, date of departure, destination, and - in some cases - name of the ship.

There, you can locate your ancestors ship, passenger list, view and save a copy of the original list. You can also access census data and death records to help you in your search. Census records, and in particular the 1930 census, is one of the most easily used tools for beginners and seasoned genealogists alike.
