Transcriber's Notes: Only the first three passengers, are identified as US Citizens, all others answered no to the question as to whether or not they had ever been in the United States, except the date 1903 is entered in that column for passenger number 12, who is the Sargeant with the 5th Infantry. For some reason there is an X beside passenger numbers 11, 18 and 19. All three have that same lettering above their names which appears to be Px or DX followed by Pd. (as one would write paid). Passenger number 19 and 20 appear to have umlauts over the letter "a" in their last name. Numbers written twice on the bottom of the manifest, in two different places and in two different ways are 23 minue 4 equalling 19 and 19 over 4. Then is written except 12 and it is signed Tho. E. Bech?d which appears to be some indication that three people may have paid upon arrival and passenger number 12, who was connected with the military and had a specific pier stamp over his native country may not have paid at the point of embarkation. The letters which were written in column 18 do not clear meaning to this transcriber, but I am certain they meant something to this captain who kept very excellent records. We wish to thank S/Sgt R.J. Cassidy, USAF (Ret) for contributing this partial manifest. Passenger number 6, John Patrick Greene, age 23 is his Maternal grandfather. If you have a connection, email Bob.
