Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States; under act of Congress approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board, upon arrival at a port in the United States.

There were only two females noted on this list, Oku Tanaka and Wasa Ahasaka, and all other passengers were male. Therefore, the sex column was eliminated. However, please note that at the end of the list, there was a note which stated that the total number of passengers was 510, 507 males and 3 females. The nationality of all passengers was listed as "Japan." Therefore, the nationality column was eliminated. All answers were "Tacoma" in the column headed "Seaport for landing in the United States." Therefore, this column was eliminated. All answers were "yes" in the column headed "Whether having a ticket for such final destination." Therefore, this column was eliminated. All answers were "myself" in the column headed "By whom was passage paid?" Therefore, this column was eliminated. All answers were "no" in the column headed "Whether ever before in the United States and if so, when and where." Therefore, this column was eliminated. All answers were "no" in the column headed "Ever in prison or almshouse or supported by charity? (If yes, state which.)" Therefore, this column was eliminated. All answers were "no" in the column headed "Whether a polygamist." Therefore, this column was eliminated. All answers were "no" in the column headed "Whether under contract, express or implied, to labor in the United States." Therefore, this column was eliminated. All answers were "healthy" in the column headed "Condition of health, mental and physical." Therefore, this column was eliminated. All answers were "no" in the column headed "Deformed or crippled. Nature or cause." Therefore, this column was eliminated. However, please note that at the end of the manifest, the following note was made: "Goodwin Manifest from Kobe. Arrived Apl 17, 1900. Total immigs 510, 507 males, 3 females. Rejected one male immig for physical disability." At the bottom of each page is written "E. & O.E., Kobe March 25, 1900, Dodwell & Company, Ltd.," and signed "A. F. Haines" Passenger numbers added for ease in referencing.
