Bark Talisman


Pt. a Pitre, Guadeloupe to New York
20 June 1877

I, R. A. Briggs, Master of the Br. Bk.* Talisman, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of Customs District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Bk* at Pt. a Pitre*, Guadeloupe from which port said (blank) has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. So help me God. R. A. Briggs.
Sworn to this 20 June 1877 before me (signature cannot be read).
List or Manifest of ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Bk. Talisman. Briggs is Master from Pt. a Pitre burthen 366.18 tons.
Columns represent: Passenger Name, Age, Sex, Occupation, Country to which they severally belong, Country of which they intend to become inhabitants, and the Part of the Vessel occupied by each passenger during the voyage.

There were no births or deaths on this passage.

The use of an * indicates an abbreviation, or a mistake made by the original
recorder.

Br. Bk. may stand for British Bark.  Barbados G.B. means Barbados, Great
Britain.

Pt. a Pitre is Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe, in the Caribbean Islands

Passenger numbers have been added to aid with referencing.

3 Miss Ella Alice Fin - her name may be Ella Alice, or the Ella may have been
  crossed out, and Alice written in instead.
