SS Schiedam
I E.M. Chevalier Master of the Steamship Schiedam do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Steamship Schiedam at Rotterdam from which port said Steamship Schiedam has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant, and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. N??? 45 M Laborer Netherlands USA Steerage 40 Louis de ?eyer 50 M private Netherlands America Steerage 41 Aire Voors ? 8 M Labourer 42 Dirky Voors 55 W 43 Ida Voors 18 44 Arie Voors 15 M Transcriber's Notes: * An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information in the transcriber's notes. ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read due to quality of original document or illegible handwriting No deaths are recorded on this manifest therefore the column for deaths has been eliminated Passenger numbers have been added to aid with referencing. 4 W? van Vladeracken under country of origin, the word Netherlands has a line drawn through it and the word Holland has been written above; under part of the vessel occupied the word Steerage has been crossed out and the term Second Cabin has been written in. 8 The surname for Francisca Kurtell could be Kursell 9-12 The surname Waune could be Waime 10 August Waune there is a spot of ink over his age 18 Peter Selback a line has been drawn through his name and all information and there is a notation written in the column for country of origin that says ‘not on board’. 19 Georg Weiss a line has been drawn through his name and all information and there is a notation written in the column for country of origin that says ‘not on board’. 20 Philipp Leigler a line has been drawn through his name and all information and there is a notation written in the column for country of origin that says ‘not on board’. 21 Johs Scholl a line has been drawn through his name and all information and there is a notation written in the column for country of origin that says ‘not on board’. 23-26 The surname Burkha?t, could be Burkhardt. 39 The 45 year old male from the Netherlands is on the bottom of page 1 of the transcription and the information is mostly cut off and unable to be read. The top of the first letter of the first name is visible and compares to the capital letter ‘J’ in other names. There is no way to ascertain the number of letters in either the surname or the given name. Correspondence 10/07/01 passenger W. (widow)van Vladeracken Hendrik Pieter Johannes (Jan) van Vladeracken, geboren Bergen (Noord Holland) 6 november 1822, vertrekt naar Amerika, overleden aldaar, zoon van Hendrik van Vladeracken en Alida Wilhelmina Grau van Egmond, trouwde Bergen (Noord Holland) 21 maart 1849 Rijka Maria van Hangest Barones d'Yvoy, geboren 's-Gravenhage 9 december 1823, overleden Patterson N.J. (U.S.A.) 20 januari 1900, dochter van Baron Hendrik Maxmiliaan Louis Justus en Maria Cornelia van Foreest. Uit dit huwelijk: Henry, Mary (zij trouwde met Carr) en Harriot. Er zijn in de U.S.A afstammelingen met de naam Van Vladricken en Vanvladricken. In the U.S.A. live descendants called Van Vladricken and Vanvladricken.
