SS Saratoga


DISTRICT OF NEW YORK – PORT OF NEW YORK
I, Thos. S. Curtis, Master of the S. S. Saratoga do solemnly,sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said S.S. Saratoga at Havana Cuba from which port said S. S. Saratoga has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. List or Manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the S.S. Saratoga whereof Thos S. Curtis is Master, from Havana, Cuba burthen 2426 13/100 tons.
Columns represent: name, age in years and mos., sex, occupation, country to which they belong, country which they intend to inhabit, accommodation.The column died on voyage was empty so I left that column off.

Transcribers Notes:    
* Passenger #13 and # 21, In their last names the c is small and is written    
  higher than the other letters, there is also ditto marks under the c.    
* Above Passenger # 15 there are the letters Stgef and it is underlined.  It    
  is not a name it is the seperation of the passengers who stayed in the
  cabins and the sternage.    
* Unable to read the Sworn before me name.
