Saratoga


From Havana, Cuba to New York, February 26, 1879

DISTRICT OF NEW YORK – PORT OF NEW YORK
I, John P. Sundberg, Master of the Steamer Saratoga do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List and Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Steamer Saratoga at Havana(Cuba) from which port said Steamer Saratoga has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. So help me God. Sworn to this 26th February 1879, before me Brynmyfer
List or Manifest of all the passengers taken on board the Steamer Saratoga whereof John P. Sundberg is Master from Havana burthen 2426 13/100 tons.
Columns represent: Name, Age(y and m), Sex, Occupation, Country to which they severally belong, Country of which they intend to become inhabitants, and accomodations during passage.

There are no births or deaths on this passage, therefore the birth/ death column has been eliminated. Correspondence 07/29/02 passenger #1 Odio I found an ancestor of our Odio family, Benjamin Odio, and I believe he is the one called Uncle Benny. I understand he married in the usa and had a son.
