I , C De?vers do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New-York, contains to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of the Passengers received on board the Brig Phoenix whereof I am Master, from Antwerp. Correspondence 6/6/00 The Neuburg/Newburg family 059 Alanis Neuburg, was actually Alois Neuburg, born 28 February, 1826 in Stotzheim, Germany, the youngest son of Jakob and Margareta (Kautz) Neuburg. He went to Wisconsin and settled in Milwaukee or Washington County. Two years later, he went back to Germany to bring his mother, his brother Casper, and his sister Catherine Schumacher, and their families over to America. They went to La Crosse County, Wisconsin where they all settled. There were two other, older brothers, Charles (Carl) and Engelbert, who settled in Washington County, Wisconsin.
