Transcriber's notes:

* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original
recorder, not the transcriber, or is used to call your attention
to additional information in the transcriber's notes.

* The Customs Official's signature was illegible.

* There were no deaths, so this column was eliminated.

* Passenger 13 Nunez had a tilde over the second n.
* Passenger 24 first name looks like Josus but could be Jesus,
even though the person is listed as a female.
Correspondence 10/4/99
I found my ancestor (great grand uncle) Thomas William BEATTIE, merchant. He was born 1853 in Santiago de Cuba. I do not have much information on him, I am searching. He probably married an American lady from South Africa. Perhaps one boy died in the war. Thomas is the son of Richard Hudson Beattie, born probably Dumfries/Scotland and died 1884 Torquay/Devon and Marie Isabel BROOKS. This couple married in Santiago de Cuba and had 9 children.
