Ship Montezuma
DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA – PORT OF PHILADELPHIA
I, John Bam, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly affirm* that the Report or Manifest subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the District of Philadelphia, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the passengers which were on board the Ship Montezuma at the time of her sailing from the Port of Liverpool or which have been taken on board at any time since; that I am at present and have been during the voyage master of the said vessel. And I do likewise swear that all matters whatsoever in the said Report or Manifest, are to the best of my knowledge and belief, just and true. SO HELP ME GOD. REPORT OR MANIFEST of all the Passengers taken on board the Ship Montezuma whereof John Bam is Master, from Liverpool, burthen 405 Tons, and owned by Henry and Alfred Cope of Philadelphia and bound for Philadelphia.

Transcriber's Notes:
* The original document did not list anyone in the "passengers who have died
on the voyage" column, so it has been omitted.
* Passenger numbers added to aid with referencing.
* "Farmers, Mechanics, and Laborers" was written once in large letters, in
the occupation column. A bracket indicated that this meant all of the
passengers, except for the last two men on the list, were either farmers,
mechanics, or laborers.
* "Great Britain and Ireland" was written once and a bracket was drawn to
indicate that these passengers were either from Great Britain or Ireland.
* In the sworn statement, "swear" was crossed out and replaced with "affirm".
* In the sworn statement, "sworn" was crossed out and replaced with "affirmed".
* Wm is commonly an abbreviated form of William.
* Thos is commonly an abbreviated form of Thomas.
