No date or signature was entered in the Immigration Inspector's statement.
The numbers entered in the Remarks column are similar to numbers on other
manifests on this film with a hand-written heading of Money in the
Remarks column.
The first sheet of this manifest is headed Saloon Contd. The sheet before
it on the film is clearly marked as from another ship. If there was a
"Saloon" sheet to start this manifest there is no evidence of it.
There are a number of abbreviated names and words that have the final
letter or letters raised above the line, such as Wm, Chars, Australa
and Califa.
Letters that are unclear are replaced with ?.
Passenger numbers were added to aid with referencing.
Psgrs 81 (Gibson) and 43 (Parkinson) were added in a different hand at the bottom of the
pages.
The page of the list from 169 (?ry Petersen) to 211 (?os Lees) has something over the
right edge of the list so that the beginnings of the names are obscured.
The L in the Remarks column is the symbol for the pound sterling. For
some passengers both symbols ($ and L) are entered.
48 The missing letter in Re?ks is "e" or "c."
62 The missing number in Remarks for passenger August Spent is a 1 or a 0.
64 The missing letter in ?uck is "L" or "T."
216 Luttwitz has multiple lines drawn through his name.
58 (Ryan), 93 (Giddings), 104 (Hargreaves), 184 (Wrigley) and 221 (Lowell) appear to
have lines drawn through their names. These lines could be due to folds in the paper.
