Transcriber's Notes:

* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
  in the transcriber's notes.

? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the
condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.

* On the original, only the first page of passengers had their (presumably) exact
origins noted. Also on the original manifest, baggage column was right after age.
This was changed by transcriber. It was not possible to read this list
well enough to see if ditto marks were used in above blank spaces for missing
  items in columns.

* Passenger numbers were added to aid with referencing.

1 Thomas Ryan: he was in his 20's; could not read 2nd digit.
3-9 Airs' baggage: four boxes, three bbl, bed & bedding.
10-13 Pusey baggage: four chests, two bbl, beds & bedding.
16 James Liv?y: letter is probably a or e or o.
29 Mary Gerraty: age was 33 or 35.
35 John Mather: no information provided for the child with him.
48 Cahrine Conroy: name as found.
68 Name after George Sennatt is missing.
69-75 Batty baggage: two boxes, four bbls, beds & bedding.
71 Martha Batty: her age was possibly 38.
80 James G?ogan: either Geogan or Grogan.

Correspondence 07/22/02 passenger Higgins
I would like to correspond with people researching their Higgins family
history if they think they have an ancestor matching the following
description. I am looking for John Higgins who was born in Ireland
circa 1825. His date of birth has also been placed at 1832. He enlisted
in the Union Army in August of 1862. I have documented his country of
birth as Ireland and the approximate date of birth in both his Civil War
Muster Records and his prison records. His muster records also gives his
enlistment date. The John Higgins I am looking for migrated to
Kinderhook, Illinois which is in west central Illinois close to the
Mississippi River. I know he performed general labor work prior to the
Civil War. He, for example, built several field stone walls using the
old European method of stacking the the stones together without mortar.
Some of these walls still stand today.
The John Higgins on this ship is possibly my John. My hope is that
someone else will be research a Higgins ancestor and will respond.
