Correspondence regarding another voyage of this ship I've recently come across a letter written by my great-grandfather Thomas Perkes, in which he mentions working on the "full rigged" Emily Augusta, leaving Liverpool August 14, 1869 and bound for New Orleans. He makes no mention of the date of arrival, but the ship did arrive. He writes "she was a hell ship, through the mate's ill treatment." I hope this might be of use to someone. I don't know if this was a passenger or cargo run. And if someone has further information on this journey, I'd be much obliged if you contact me at Carolyn Perkes
