Transcriber's Notes:
The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder.
The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to quality
of original document.
In this list, the only occupation was "laborer" for all
males, even male children. All passengers were from Ireland,
bound for the "U.States". One passenger died (???Lyons), and
none were born. Therefore, I have omitted the four columns
regarding occupation, country of origin, country of
destination, and remarks.
Passenger numbers have been added for ease in referencing.
(Captain's name) ?? Wait - Initials look somewhat like "S.H."
5 Fo?y Clark Not sure how many letters between "o"
and "y" in first name, but third letter
extends upward like "l","h", or"t".
10 J?? Lyons* Died. First name obscured by the y of "Mary"
in the line above, and the "l" of "Ellen" in
the line below.
13 Ann ?ehan First letter could be either "T" or "F":
Tehan or Fehan.
20 ?? Car First name illegible.
58 H??h Maclochlin Middle letters of first name obscured by tail
of the "y" in "Mary" in the line above. Could
be"Hugh".
79 John Maconni? Last letter of last name may be "s":
Maconnis
92 Wm C??nnis Last name could be Cunnis, Crinnis,or
Clinnis
96 Margaret ?ainley First letter could be "H" or "K": Hainley,
Kainley
97 Al? Russel Third letter of first name obscured by
tail of "g" in name Margaret of line above
126 John S??lar Last name could be Splar or Stilari
148 ?a??es Brogan First letter of first name appears
at first to be a "B"(but not like
other capital B's in this list),
but also has tail below the
line, as in capital "J". Best
guess is "James".
181-182 Peter Cas???ley Middle letters of last name obscured by
the tail of the "y" in the line above.
Best guess is "Casserley".
199 Margt Ahe?y Fourth letter of last name
obscured by the tail of the "g" in the
line above. Whatever the letter is, it
does not extend above or below the line.
200-201 Margt Du??e? Third and fourth letters obscured by the
"y" from the line above;could be "rn";
last letter could be either "y" or "g":
Durney,Durrneg
Correspondence: 2/00 Passengers #1 & 2 Leonard
According to Carleen McMorrow (corkeen@aol.com), Morris and Mary had
a daughter Eliza supposedly born on ship (but such a birth was not
recorded on this list). The couple settled in Boston, and their
daughter Eliza eventually married a Patrick McMorrow, who was from
Tralee. She does not know from where in Ireland the Leonard's came, and
would welcome any leads from others.
