I certify the within manifest was this day produced to me as the original manifest of the cargo on board the ship Edward Downes whereof J. Purdy is Master from Liverpool. In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name this twelfth* day of May 1828. (signed) Wm. B. S. Taylor (*Ship may have arrived 19 May 1828.)

* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not

? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the
  condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.

*  Date of arrival is in question: on statement was written 12 May 1828.  However, ship was 
   filed as arriving 19 May 1828. 
*  Passenger numbers have been added for ease in referencing.

 1    Jno. Henderson: no residence given.    
 1-2  The Henderson baggage was bracketed for both names.
 3-4  The Lyle baggage was bracketed for both names.
 5-7  Lanyon, Cole, Conith baggage was bracketed for all three names.
 7    Con?th: letter was e or i.  He seemed to be in his teens.
