DISTRICT OF NEW YORK – PORT OF NEW YORK
I, (signed) Arthur B Peters Master of the SS Devon do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board of the said SS Devon at Bristol from which Port said SS Devon has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers; the part of the Vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died.Sworn to, this April 3rd 1879 (signed) Arthur B Peters before me(unreadable) So help me God.

The Cabin passengers were not numbered by the manifest scribe; sequential numbers 
have been added to aid with referencing.

*The captain used m instead of male for Cabin passengers
*Passenger #7 The letter could be either an h or k
*Passenger #9 The letter could be either an h, k or l as there is a
 separation
*Passenger #10 The letter could be either an h, k or l, both boy and child
 are in the column for sex, surname is the same for passenger #9
*Passenger #13 Evens George the country to which he left is just a ds
