DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I Frederick Watkins Master of the SS City of Brussels do
solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List
or Manifest, subscribed by me and now delivered by me to the
Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New
York, is a full and perfect List of all the passengers taken
on board the said SS City of Brussels at Liverpool from which
port the said SS City of Brussels has now arrived; and that
on said List is truly designated the age, the sex and the
occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel
occupied by each during the passage, the country to which
each belongs, and also the country for which it is intended
by each to become an inhabitant, and that said List or
Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who
have died on said Voyage and the name and ages of those who
died. Sworn to this April 7,1879. So Help Me God
List or Manifest of all the passengers taken on board the
SS City of Brussels whereof Frederick Watkins is Master from
Liverpool. burthen 2434 tons

in Space Occupied. To aid with referencing, the passengers have been renumbered
sequentially.

Passenger # 19 Joseph Norman
I think I may have found one of my ancestors. I
am trying to track down my grandfathers side of
the family but no one in my family is quite sure
where his family is originally from.
The name that I have is: Joseph Norman and he
sailed from Liverpool To New York arriving April 7,1879.
I am very interested in trying to find out exactly where my
grandfather came from.
