Transcriber's Notes:
There were no births or deaths noted.
? indicates letter(s) which could not be read
Passenger numbers were added by the transcriber to aid in referencing
footnotes.
* Columns for sex and occupation were not completed for some passengers.
* 3 -- For occupation, there is a ditto mark on the line between this
passenger and the preceding one. It is not clear if the writer intended
to indicate this passenger's occupation is also "mercantile", or if the
mark was made in error for the preceding passenger.
* 9 -- Age could also be 14
* 20 -- Ditto mark indicates female, name is obviously male
* 26 -- Surname looks like Fetzjohn, possibly Fitzjohn with no dot over
the "i".
* 41 -- Age apears to be 9 written over an 8
* 48-55 -- Surname could be Hayler.
* 57-58 -- Surname could be Deyo.
* 61 -- Surname could be Mackintosh with no dot over the "i".
* 68-70 -- Surname was crossed out and written in above. It appears to be
Trenter or Trentete.
* 77 -- Surname could also be Lummon.
* 89 -- Surname is possibly Luce. It is unclear if the mark above the
third letter is a dot or simply a stray mark.
* 90 -- Ditto mark indicates male, name is obviously female.
* 91-93 -- Surname could be Mutrain.
* 101 -- Surname might be Cabham.
* 102 -- Ditto mark indicates male, name is obviously female.
* 102-103 -- It is not clear if there is a letter after the "k", or if it
is part of the connecting stroke. The mark resembles an uncrossed "t",
but goes below the line.
* 105 -- ditto mark indicates female, but given name is generally male.
* 110 -- ditto mark indicates female, apparently in error
* 114 -- Surname appears to be Munscher, Munschur, Munischer, or Munischur.
* 118-119 -- Surname could be Krim.
* 129 -- Surname might be Roth. It is unclear if there is a fourth
letter, or if it is a flourish on the "t".
* 130 -- Missing letters in occupation look like "er".
* 140 -- Missing letter in occupation looks like "L".
* 159 -- Missing letter looks like "o" or "a": Loewenbrick or Laewenbrick.
* 167 -- First missing letter looks like "U", second like "r" or "u":
Untbellarch or Untbellauch.
* 170 -- This line is blank on manifest.
Correspondence 2/16/01 passengers #57, 58, 80 and 85
My Great Uncle, John Smith, passenger #80, and his brother, George
Smith, my Grandfather, passenger #85, left Thurne Norfolk County England
to accompany their ageing Uncle and Aunt, John and Elizabeth
Page, passengers #57 and #58, to the home of Nicholas and Susanna Smith,
living in Oakfield, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin USA. Nicholas was
also an Uncle to John and George, being their father's brother.
In a history I have of Grandfather, George, he tells of the rough
voyage and happenings aboard ship from London to New York.
