Transcriber's Notes:
* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
in the transcriber's notes.
? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the
condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.
The writer of this manuscript left a column blank until a different last name,
sex, or country appeared.
The writer also put Farmer at the top of each manifest page for occupation.
Therefore, all occupations are listed as Farmer. He put United States at the
top of each page for country in which they intend to become inhabitants.
There were no deaths recorded on this voyage. However for the 2 Dumont passengers,
#46 & #47, the writer put American in this column.
The first "s" in Prussia and Hesse is written like an "f".
Three infants were listed showing age in months = m.
I believe that the letter is a "c", but it was written like an "o" on the manifest in
the case of the following passengers: 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 21, 22, 30, 34-36, 40, 54-56,
60, 62, 67-71, 79-82, 92, 93, 106, 109, 110, 117-119, 125, 131.
8 Bu?mbusch - could be Burmbusch or Bunmbusch.
16 Matthias - first name is missing. Could possibly be same as name above - Leopoldine.
Or maybe it is his first name & his last name then would be Rieders.
17 Euphrosine Matthias - if Matthias is #16's first name, then her last name would be
Rieders.
19 Marmle - there are 2 dots over the "a" & it might be spelt Mannle.
30 Friedrich - Ch? looks like Ch with a raised r. Abbreviation for Charles?
31 Si?ian - could be Simian or Sirnian.
40 Simon - there are 2 dots over the "o" in Roschen.
45 Feniou - there is a grave accent mark over the little "e" in Eugen.
46 Dumont - there is an acute accent mark on the "e" in Mondole.
50 Weber - there is either a rip in the original paper or his name was crossed out.
52 Gagnaud - there is a grave accent mark over the middle "e" in Etienne.
68 Schindler - could be "A" Athilie or "U" Uhilie.
74 & 76 Rahm - the middle name is a "M" with a raised "e".
82 Schlosser - first "s" of the "ss" was written like an "f".
90 Italien was spelt this way on the manifest.
105 Bahr - there are 2 dots over the "a".
114, 115 Simon K?iser - his name is crossed out & ??a?e Merer is written in.
114 K?iser - unable to make out letter because upper curves of the "M" in Merer
are written over it.
115 Merer - first name is squeezed in, unable to read letter(s) of first
name. The last ? could be an "a".
121, 122, & 123 Weiss - the first "s" is written like an "f".
126-129 Knoblook - maybe Knoblock.
130 Muller - there is a breve mark over the "u" in Muller & a grave accent mark over
the first "e" in Pierre.
131 Esch - there is a grave accent mark over the first "e" in Pierre.
